Membership Policy

OELA promotes the interests of individual employees by assisting attorneys who represent them. Membership is open to members of the bar in private, public or public interest practice who promote the interests of employees and dedicate 70% or more of their employment practice to the representation of employees.

Content Policy

Members

  1. Questions, announcements, replies and other posts must be professional and courteous in tone and content.
  2. Questions, announcements, replies and other posts that identify a current or prospective client must have the consent of the current or prospective client. The post should not, to the extent reasonably possible, include client identifying information.
  3. Postings may not be made for the purpose of assisting or representing employers.
  4. Members who recognize or suspect that a posting is made on behalf of a party opposing the Member’s client should notify the posting member of that fact, ask other OELA members to reply privately to such posting and delete and not read replies to such posting.
  5. Members should reply privately to questions, announcements, and other posts whenever possible.
